DIRECTOR OF ACRO
Alex Patrick graduated from Southern Methodist University with a B.A. in Creative Advertising, a B.A. in Dance Management and Production, as well as a minor in Dance Performance. Alex is a national award-winning choreographer, stage manager, and international performer. She has choreographed and worked in Canada, New Orleans, Oklahoma and Los Angeles, including the world-renowned Debbie Allen Dance Academy.
She is a Certified Acro Instructor by the Acrobatic Arts for levels Primary through Pre-Professional 3. The 12-level curriculum is based on safe progressions for balance, strength, flexibility, limbering, and tumbling. Alex is also certified by Alixa Flexibility as a Flexibility Coach. She is currently pursuing certification by Acrobatique Acrodance.
Alex was a Stage Manager on staff with the SMU Division of Dance, where she stage managed shows at The Winspear Opera House and City Performance Hall. She danced with the Meadows Ensemble and was the first to perform on the Annette Strauss Square stage.
Other career highlights include: performing with Museffect/Muse Dance Company, Oreah Dance Company, Good Dance since 1984, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, touring with Celebrity Dance Competitions, stage managing for the All Stars Project of Dallas and modeling in New York Fashion Week.
Alex loves inspiring her students to excel in their craft and to build strong character. Her teaching goals are: to create a positive and diligent environment, to nurture versatile talent that prioritizes technique and style, and to foster passion for the performing arts.
